Released Women’s Conference – Beltway 2025Prophetic Painting by Nancy Capra

I always start my painting with this Latin phrase which translates to "Glory to God alone". It emphasizes that all glory, honor, and praise belong solely to God. It underscores the idea that my efforts and accomplishments should ultimately reflect God's work and not my own

In painting for Released, I asked God to show me where to focus. He took me to Isaiah 54:2, which was a key verse over the conference. I pondered the words: Enlarge the place of your tent, Stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; Lengthen your cords, Strengthen your stakes. The edges of the canvas are inscribed with the scripture from Isaiah and echo God’s command to write and teach His Word to ourselves and our children. The word tent drew my thoughts to the Bedouin tribes of Israel and the muslin used to construct their tents. I knew that color was going to be a part of the painting and sensed its representation of the earthly, the unbleached, the natural. So, in contrast to that, I felt God inviting me to use gold which is throughout the background of the painting. And I sensed His reminder of Heaven to come and Heaven on earth, as in the Lord’s prayer. The yellow represents glory and joy. But I still didn’t know what the subject matter was. I kept seeing the fabric flowing, moving and then I concentrated on the words; enlarge, stretch, lengthen, and strengthen. That’s when I received the images of the dancers. I love the way they appear reflective but together. As we went through the weekend one of the big points was community. One dancer alone can perform a beautiful solo, but for a group to perform a piece they have to work together, to be aware of each other, to cooperate and connect. The purple is representation of 1 Peter 2:9. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”. Then there is the mark, the bright red stripe on the dancers to indicate the saving grace, also represented by the number five (dancers). And in a surprise dream, the Lord showed me the old hymnals that I keep in the studio and told me to paste the lyrics of our favorites onto the dancers’ skirts. Surrounding them in words of praise and worship. You can zoom in to see and enjoy the revival of heart songs from the past. My prayer for you is that you receive a special Word from the Lord. There is so much more here to unpack and that is the joy of being a prophetic painter and letting you discover His personal relationship with and for you. -Nancy Capra 2025

In the Bible the book of Revelation begins with Jesus speaking to the seven churches. These watercolor inks are my interpretation. The first is the finished work and below it is the underpainting highlighting His message.
